Hello everyone, I am new to the SVG files, i havent gotten my Sure cuts a lot program yet hope to get it in a couple of weeks. I am trying to learn as much as I can until then. I thought I would snag a couple of SVG files that are posted online that I like until I get my program. my problem is this, when I save the files I can't open them. What am I doing wrong? I save in a file in my documents. Is there something else I should be doing to them so I can open them? Or do I need the program first in order to open them? Please help !!! Thanks Lesia

To open the SVG files, you need a program that can read svg files. The easiest solution is to get a copy of inkscape, which is a FREE software download.

Once you do have the SCAL program, you IMPORT svg's into SCAL, don't try to open, because it will not work.

You can also use adobe illustrator or Corel Paint shop pro to open them and another one which is free is GIMP
