Has anyone seen or tried to use the mini sharpie pens in place of the cricut pens and if so how does it work? How do you know how tall to insert the pen, and do you need anything else (like a pencil grip) to hold it in place?

TIA
Diana

I've been wondering how these pens work myself. I'd love to see some examples of work done with them.

I've used the pens and love them (sorry I don't have any samples here to post as I'm at work).

There's a trick to getting it "right" though. First change out the blade mechanism with the marker. Now "Load Paper" and then type in anything you want and press cut. The cricut will "draw" your design, now here's the trick part...........

Do NOT hit "Unload paper". Instead hit "Load Paper" again and the blade mechanism will go back to the top. Now switch the marker for the blade and hit "Repeat Last", or if using SCAL just click on the Cut icon. Voila!! Perfectly "matted" design.

Hope this helps!

I love the markers too! They give the cut deminsion and it really looks great.
they are very easy to use once you get the hang of it.
