Craft Edge

Hi, I have an old Cricut Version 1. It was given to me a couple months ago. I want to get Sure Cuts A Lot but I need specifics. I downloaded Design Studio because I think I read somewhere that you need that first to start and then delete.
I think I need firmware to update my cricut to a different version. Then I saw a video where you need to download a driver for the USB cord. So I'm totally confused on where to start. Could someone tell me or send me to a website that will? thanks so much!

I'm new to this but I bought a Cricut Create to do my vinyl decals and needed to update my firmware for SCAL to work. What I did (which was recommended by Craft Edge) was download from Provo Craft their trial software for the Cricut. Install is and open it up. There is an option to update the firmware. Follow the instructions and your firmware update is complete. Very easy and quick. Hope this helped.
