ok, I have read this thread after doing a search on exporting a font from inkscape to ecal.
I have ecal. I am using windows xp.
I am using inkscape because I am looking to do text on the INSIDE of the curve and found no info on how to do that in ecal.
I have created curved text on a path in inkscape.
As you know it doesn't open in ecal as text.
So, I am trying ot figure out what I need to do in inkscape to have this open in ecal.
I don't understand some of what has been posted here.
Is there anyone that can tell me what I need to do?
Thanks
Paula

Text on Path in eCAL is very much like text on Path in Inkscape. You can put text on the inside of a curve directly in eCAL. Select your curve and from the menu select Path/Reverse Path. Then when you add your text it will be on the inside of the circle.
If you would like more information on using text on Path in Inkscape I have a tutorial on my blog. http://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/2 ... -inkscape/
The Cliff Notes version of what you need to do in Inkscape is to put your text on the Path, then select the text and use Path/Object to Path (Path/Union if you are using SCAL1). Delete your original Path. HTH

In Inkscape select the text and use path->object to path before saving and it will import into e/scal
For what it is worth the text on a curve in e/scal is extremely poorly implemented and Inkscape makes a MUCH, MUCH better job of it
