the hinge method is quick even if you DO have a laser if you are cutting several..
If you are cutting lots of copies of the same picture it is much quicker to line them up under the cutout sheet than lining the laser on a tiny dot 3 times for every one

You don't have to do the laser each time.....just put multiple images on your page.....then when you print will will do the registration marks just once around the entire collection.....so you only align the laser 1 time and it will cut out all the shapes......super super easy!!!!

If you are making boxes with printed sides that's not very likely

I made a skip full of party boxes for a Pal, I did those with hinge even though I have laser P&C.
not sure if other cutters have the facility but with the Cougar it was even faster because it is just a case of lining up another printed sheet and press repeat - no need to send the file every time. I love ma cougar
