Lol, Sandy, yes, that's me! Glad you found the video helpful. I have a whole playlist on SCAL, it's true and yes, I have some designs in the Library. I keep meaning to send Brandon some more but I have a memory like a sieve sometimes!

Paid and upgraded my version of SCAL 3Pro to 5Pro. Reinstalled everything. Now I can't get the software to recognize my cutter. USB works, but can't get the connection to test and function. Feel like I just got ripped off. All drivers are up to date. Operating system is MAC Catalina. Cutter is a PCut, CT630. Anyone else having this experience, have any recommendations or workarounds?

Go to Cutter>Cutter Settings and make sure you have the correct Baud Rate set based on what your cutter is using. If it still won't cut, please start a support ticket with Craft Edge (SCAL developer's site) using this link:

Sandy, resetting the Baud rate did the trick. Thanks so much for the suggestion and quick help!

I sent this to Craftedge today

'I contacted you back in October regarding the behaviour of the settings on the second (left) tool on the Silver Bullet Platinum.

Months later, the problem has not gone away. This file is simple, pink lines are left tool score lines, the rest are cut lines on the right tool.

The scorelines are defined as a force of 255, using the spanner menu. However, the setting is being changed to another pressure, regardless of it being ‘separate jobs’ or not, the only way to get them scored is to select the pink lines only and check just before cutting. It will still use the left tool if things are grouped but not the correct pressure that I have set - the spanner box will show it as ‘Custom setting’ - not scorelines and if I do let it cut, it is obviously not using the right pressure.

This leaves me in the intolerable position of always having to group and ungroup things, just to cut them as they are supposed to, and of course, if I ungroup them, I have to use WYSIWYG or the score lines will be in the wrong place. Which means I am having to shift stuff around on the work space continuously..

This is driving me mad with frustration. Even simple things are taking ages.'

As you might notice I am getting very frustrated at this ongoing problem. (I included a file). Anyone else having issues or am I the only one with a Silver Bullet Platinum?

Thanks, Sandra

Can anyone help me understand why my font names are showing upside down but the preview of the font shows correctly? How do I fix this, it's driving me nuts.

It's fixed in the more recent updates. Because the Check for Update option does NOT work in SCAL's Help menu, you need to periodically go to the web site below, select the SCAL5 version you purchased, and then download and install. It's fast and easy and doesn't require re-registering. Note that the version number displayed on the page may or may not be the latest (usually it hasn't been updated either!). But the file you download WILL be the most current.
