Yes it is real! I could only wish that the bear was mine. There must be a demand out there for that. I would pump out bears a day like that if I knew I would get paid that much.

wire brush question: is it soft or stiff and what is it made of? i went in the hardware store and couldn't answer any of his questions :( What would a "normal" use of the brush be?

From what I understand, its one of those small wire bristle brushes (a little bigger than a toothbrush). One of the tricks in producing a nice fluffy bear is layers. If you cut each piece just a eensy bit smaller that the base and then lightly brush those out. Chalking around the edges give it a nice dimension too. I tried a couple, but I'm not the biggest fan. Personally, I think the eyes make or break the bear. Hope this helps a little. Just google tear bears images to give you a bunch of ideas.
