So back to my initial question. If I contact Provo and
Make a plea..I know I can't mention scal.
For what other reason would I use the USB on my cricut expression-
Their design studio? I want to have ducks in a row as to
The possible/probably non-functioning USB port.
Thanks

At the moment that's the only reason I can think of. I don't know anything about the Cricut Craft Room. I want to wish you luck and I hope you get some type of customer satisfaction. :)

not that you would do it as you'd lose the ability to use scal but to update the firmware you'd need the USB would you not?

You would need a working USB to connect your Expression to PC's Cricut Craft Room. Try to cut something with their software and if CCR cannot detect your Expression, then you have credible ammo that the Expression's USB is dead. You don't have to mention any other software to them. Good luck, they usually tell you you're on your own if the warranty is expired.

Yes. I called today! Very very impressed with the customer service rep (brita). Seriously she was thorough and kind and patient! But.... Machine out of warranty so they couldn't help. Ugh

So where does that leave you? New cutting machine? Or are you going to see if you can get someone to repair that port? Good luck!

Check this out on Ebay. Only $20 for an Expression with some missing parts. This might be cheaper than having your machine repaired.
