Thanks Heather M...
I was thinking maybe it is the card..shame because it makes it look so nice
Trial and error as they say lol
Im really just trying different things right now...old cardstock so not losing anything really
But I will keep in mind your suggestions...
I will try slowing the speed down see if that makes a difference
Have to remember to make a note of all this lol
Thank you again
Your reply is much appreciated :)

How old is your mat. With that much cutting, it could be you have spots on your mat where the paper is not sticking and it will not cut correctly???

yes, perl card is not a good cutting machine card - it looks great if you get to cut - I mostly only use it for simple shapes.

try lowering the speed and also put tape (masking) alone the edges of the card where possible to help hold it down.
also try using a brayer to press the card onto the mat - the mat might need to be re-stickied but not too much or you won't get the card off again :)

Again thank you for replies :D

Sandy...mat is new, I only had my Eclips about 3 months and just started using it about 2 weeks ago
But there are little bits of card stuck to it...gave it a good clean after reading your post :D

Gaz...Thanks for the tip about the masking tape :)
I think I will stick to using pearl cs like you, for simple shapes..this possibly too intricate a design
Will try lowering the speed too...

totally agree with Gaz - I love that card for a base or simple shapes but have never managed to cut it successfully in small detail

but it is lovely for bigger cuts and stands up well.

One other thing that occurred, in my way of thinking - the only stupid question is the one you dont ask :)

so ask away - dont have the eclips but may have similar experiences with other machines

good luck with your cutting it looks a very pretty file .....

something else to try, that 'might' work - no promises.
does your machine return to its origin or original start point when it finishes cutting?

if it does or you can set multicut on the ecal - you might find, with a lower force & the tape (or if you have a spray glue (make sure it's repositionable) spray a very, very light coat on the back of the card, use talc to get rid of it after cutting) then cutting two or three times instead of one may, I repeat, may get through the perl CS.

it's worth a try

Hope it works.

do let us know, even if it's a no, did not work :)

I think of perl card as a "you pays your money, you takes your chances" card :)

but when it DOES work, it does look really nice.

you can get the same kind of look with coloured card and mica dust

no problem, it's just things you pick up as you throw different medias into your machines for a "I Wonder IF!!....."

LOL
