Yes but I am not necessarily looking for simple shapes. I can use dingbats or clipart for that.

Most of the time I make my own, use fonts, or the thousands of free ones that are shared. I have to LOVE them before I will spend any money on them since there are so many free available. With that said, I have bought several sets from Treasure Box Designs. I LOVE her files but they are very cutesy too....that works for me as I have children at home and they bring out the kid in me! LOL. Have you looked at Penny Duncan's site. She is a true artist and a lot of her work is elegant.....not cutesy....
Good luck.

You are silly!!!! If you put one positive shape on top of another at a different angle you create negative shapes, a space where there is nothing but a shape is created! How's that for making sense???? Just try it with a few shapes and you will see.

Jan, two places I have found "grown-up" cards are
http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/

And, of course, there are always the galleries at Splitcoast Stampers.

Sandy,
The positive shape is what has been cut out, and the negative shape is what has been left behind.
In the example pic, the pink heart is the positive that has been removed leaving the heart-shaped negative in the square.

Very rarely do I buy svg files. I download a lot of freebies with the hope of using them in future cards or scrapbook pages. I create my own which I share as freebies on my blog, but as for selling them myself...no one's interested, and they're not considered "cute" ... lol ... Plus I don't have the money to always purchase a svg file.
