Parent CAN and should do a lot.

I also challenge you to think about the standards: kids aren't allowed to curse in school or they are reprimanded, but we see coaches curse with no reprimand (many band directors as well....intensity=profanity). So...when it comes to "mature settings" it's okay. And TV. And movies geared toward adults have to have so many "words" in them to get 'good enough' ratings to do well in the box office.

It's become a cultural standard--we correct kids, yet allow it an 'adult' settings as "adult" behavior as if there are exceptions. It's very immature, rude, and unacceptable. I hate it!

I've started watching TV with my laptop and WiFi in hand to let commercial advertisers and TV shows know that we had to turn the channel due to their choices. More of us need to take the time to try to make a difference and not let the loud and rowdy minority rule. Thanks for joining me, those of you who try!
