Shapes not closing?!! Help!
Re: Shapes not closing?!! Help!
When you right click on the SCAL Icon and go to Properties, how are you running the program? Do you have any boxes checked/not checked?

I'm not at home right now, so I'm not for sure, but I don't think it would be anything unusual. I run it from the start menu: Start->All Programs->Craft Edge->Sure Cuts A Lot 2

If you right click on the SCAL icon, you will get a pop up window. At the bottom, select properties. Under the compatibility tab is where you can select different ways to run the program.

Re: Shapes not closing?!! Help!
I think I'm coming closer to the reason for this problem. Even after downgrading to version 2.028, the problem continues.
Out of curiosity, I made some of the svgs I was trying to cut larger, and VOILA! No big gaps. Occasionally some small ones, but no huge gaps like I was getting before. So... it seems to be a size issue. I'm trying to cut the designs around 1/4" to 1/2" tall (they're being put onto/into tiny bottles).
So... there you go. I think I'm going to email Craft Edge about this, but I thought I would update you on the status of this.

I have never seen large gaps like you are getting, whether the cut is small or large. Little gaps are frequent, depending on quality. I have noticed, however, that the quality of a cut tends to degrade the more it is cut/copied/pasted. Is your cut a trace or did you import an .svg made somewhere else?

Re: Shapes not closing?!! Help!
I have had this happen before on small cuts too. The SCAL2 picture looks OK but some of the lines don't close. This only happens on a small percentage of cuts so I didn't mind too much getting out my exacto and fixing it. I'm running version 2.012.

I have imported an svg--both that someone else has made, and one that I have made myself. No copying and pasting. For that matter, I'm having the problem when I simply use the text tool in SCAL.pennsylvaniakate wrote:I have never seen large gaps like you are getting, whether the cut is small or large. Another picture of the problem that has persisted.
Re: Shapes not closing?!! Help!
Was a solution ever found to this problem, as I am now getting it? I chose a square from the shpes library and it cuts unevenly on one side
