Need a new cutting system

Post by StarAnne »

I have a Cricut machine and just now found out about the SCAL. I was going to purchase it but found out it is no longer available for the Cricut machine. I'm looking for a new cutting system but don't really know much about any of them. Does anyone have any suggestions on which one would be the best? I will be using it for my own personal use, not commercial. I'm tired of being limited to the cartridges that I have and I don't really want to invest in any more Cricut cartridges. Please help. Thanks

today is the last day to buy SCAL2 to work with your Cricut! SVGCuts.com has it for sale! Hope the original poster sees this message!

There are many good cutters out there, wish I would have known about them....I would not have bought the expression. I have, since all the settlement stuff, bought a Gazelle cutter, got it on sale over a month ago. Just today I received my Silhouette Cutter, it is smaller in that it only takes the 8 1/2 by 11 paper but it is dead on with print and cut but does not cut chipboard, I got it at Overstock with a discount and cost me only $156.00. The Black Cat Cougar is a more expensive cutter but they make a Lynx cutter that is more reasonable in price. There is the Pazzles Cutter and the Klic N Kut, priced around what the Black Cat is. Just do a google search for these cutters and see what fits your budget and needs.

Edited to add, forgot about the Ecraft cutter by Craftwell, you don't need a cutting mat for this machine.

I can tell you it cuts wonderfully to the Black Cat Cougar and Lynx cutters. Awesome and thanks for adding the Cutters , now my wish is for laser alignment and three point registration. you all can find out more about tyhe Blac Cat cutters here at these sites. http://thatsscrapinc.com/blackcatcutters.aspx and
http://www.thymegraphics.co.uk/index.asp both are always there to help and answer questions .
I own the cricut , the gazelle and the US cutter 34" MH-871 and in my opinion the best cutter the Black Cat Cougar, i own the 18" and love it.[/size]
but remember to get something that you can afford and that meets all your needs, do all the comparison shopping you need to satify your wants then make your purchase. I do not sell machine but I do offer help where I can, I am the one they send you to in the USA to get start up tech support for the Black Cats machines if you need it.

oh I have a Black Cat Cougar as well and LOVE it but the Lynx machines are great as well. There are many video's for the machine on my blog if you'd like to check it out http://everdaylittlethings.blogspot.com/ . I think Leo from SVG cuts also has video's of the lynx!!

I cant' help much YET on using it with SCAL as I just recently got this program and haven't had the chance to learn it yet!!!!!! I hope to very soon though.
