Cricut won't cut SCAL files

I am using Windows XP and have updated my driver and updated to SCAL 2.0 but everytime I try to cut a SCAL file it always stops at "Checing Mat" and then freezes up and I have to keep rebooting my computer. I even tried resetting the Cricut but nothing seems to work. It will cut from my Cricut cartridges but not from downloaded SCAL files. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can provide.

The latest version is 2.030

I'm sorry that was a typo on my part.. The latest version is 2.038

I had that problem with 2.030 and had to go back to 2.028... you may want to download the newest version (2.038) to see if this fixes your problem
