Having scal cut to the gazelle
Having scal cut to the gazelle
the gazelle uses the printer driver to cut to the gazelle it sees the driver in the printer window but cannot make the gazelle cut -it uses the cutok dc330 printer driver
Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
I did get SCAL/Gazelle to cut once. I followed the tutorial over at the Gazelle forum for the Adobe cutting. I changed it up a bit for SCAL. It did work and was a bit choppy. That could have been my fault because I was just excited to see if it could cut. The next time I went to do it I had trouble. This might be my fault again too since my cats were "helping" me. Trust me they are not very helpful. Shhh, don't tell them I said that.

Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
Can you save a Gazelle cut file the same way we save our Cricut cut files? If so, what are they called and what type of an extension do they have?
Todd
Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
We can't save a Gazelle file to SVG. At least not in Funtime. We can save them as DXF and import them in the Funtime Software. Funtime is the native software for the Gazelle. I design a lot of files in Inkscape and either save them as DXF or PNG then import them into Funtime. Funtime used the WPC format as their native file.
I just took a peek to see what formats Funtime will let us Export. The listings are AI, EPS, DXF, BMP, JPG, LUN, PLT, PNG, TIF, WMF.
When I create a file in Funtime. I always make a print copy using DoPDF. Then I import the PDF into Inkscape. I always get a perfect copy that way. I never have used the export feature since I always make a Print PDF copy.
I hope that was not too confusing. Any questions just let me know.

Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
Can you save a CUT file with the Funtime software, or do you have to always import a picture?

Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
Todd forgive me. I have had two hours of sleep. I am a bit confused. I don't think you meant a Cut file from Cricut Design Studio. If I am wrong just let me know.
I think you meant like a regular vector cut file. Yes, you can import, export and save vector files with Funtime.
Does that help. I am just being more confusing?
Any questions don't be afraid to ask.

Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
ok just checked i can cut from scal to my gazelle.
look to see if you have the CUTOK DC330 printer driver
this is what many of us do to cut to the gazelle. I am not sure how many know this already but give it a try and you will see you can cut all your scal files just by going to file and checking the print outline is checked then when you are ready to cut then click print look for the CUTOK set that as the printer and then click ok and cut very simple and fast

Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
Rachell!
That's what I forgot the second attempt I tried to cut with my Gazelle/SCAL. I forgot to check print outline. Yes, that is a really important step, lol. Forget that step and you have one Grumpy Gazelle!
Did you think the cutting was smooth as Funtime. Did you think it was a bit choppy. I am trying to figure out if the choppiness was my mistake.

Re: Having scal cut to the gazelle
when I cut it from bringing in from my personal saved library it was very smooth also check the nodes on all file as this makes a big difference
