Laptop question..

Post by BJN »

Hoping someone might know the answer. My laptop is not working.. It was fine earlier this morning .. I shut the lid like I always do when I leave for a short while and then lift the lid and I have to sign back in. This time I lift the lid and nothing happens .. I just get a black screen. The blue light is on. I did press the power button.. nothing. I did the Ctrl//shift/Esc in case it is frozen.. nothing. It is a new laptop bought in December .. a Dell Win 7. I may need to call Dell but just wondering if anyone knows what is going on. I heard Dell service is not that great but it is a brand new laptop.. thanks for any help..

When all else fails with my Dell (or any other computer), I remove its lifeline...I remove the battery with is a reset. Once you put the battery back in, just turn it on. It might try to do a diagnostic and you can either let the computer do the diag or hit the key (will tell on the screen) to continue with the boot process.

Hold the power button down until the unit shuts off. It might take two or three seconds. Wait a few minutes and turn it back on.
