Glass Blocks

Post by lindamac »

I just wanted to share the glass blocks I have been working on. The fireman is for my son in law, the bird in the bush is for my mom and the Welcome is for a friend of mine. I couldn't figure out what to put on top of the fireman block. a bow would be too girly. I had to mail the bird one so didn't want to put a bow on top because I thought it would get crushed. I am hoping I can find a small reproduction antique fire truck or something to put on the top of the fireman one. I put leather around the edges and used a suggestion from "btails" (Judy) to wrap the lights with wire so they wouldn't fall down inside of the block.

OH, I wanted to say that I printed the background on vellum, used my Xyron to adhere the vellum to the glass block. Before doing that, I stuck the design on the printed vellum, then cut it to size before adhering the vellum to the block. Much easier that way.

ok, I found it. I made it a scut file and the pine tree sticks out of the frame but I just cut it off with scissors. Hope you can use it.
