Baby Bootie -3d Boy and Girl version

Post by lkc »

I was asked by a local crafter for a 3-d baby bootie last weekend and posted it on our local forum but thought I'd share it here, too.

Here's the basic baby bootie pattern. I cut these from one of my 2-sided papers and just reversed the paper. The pics from the other site where I found the design are very cute and offer a tweak on the basic design to create a baby boy bootie though I think this works fine for either a boy or girl.

I went ahead a did the boy version that they show...it's down below a little further...

Adorable!! Do you need a 12x12 mat?
Thanks for sharing.

No, the baby booties pictured were cut from a 6x6 size. The sole is about 1 3/4"x2 3/4" and stand about an 1½" tall. They seem a little taller than the adorable ones pictured in the link I posted but you could always try tweaking the svg file.

Okay, now that I've done the baby boy bootie it is cute to have both versions! I used a small paintbrush handle to gently poke the front part of the shoe to shape it after I glued it.

The extra piece slips in front...I may have made the holes small but the small elastic cord fit through it fine and this one was also cut within a 6"x6" size. I basically traced the template provided, but maybe it would have been better to do the tabs different but on the pdf files they give reference points by the tabs for attaching the top to the base...they are sweet designs and it will be fun to have something new to share at the next local scrapathon!
