I had this problem just today.. It wanted me to reactivate.. This am I had to keep the compatability settings for vista now this afternoon I had to set it to window xp.. hmmmm.. It did solve the problem though..

just sharing....

the picture shows the problem that I was having after downloading and installing SCAL2 the second time. It kept doing the same thing every time i attempted to open it. about an hour ago, i tried problem solving and said to myself, "what would Tod (Talanheart) would advice?" You know he always gives this common sense input. It took me awhile before figuring out: go to properties and make unclick XP compatible. It worked!! :lol: I had to reactivated SCAL2 again.

I'm having this same problem. Now it wont take the serial number. I emailed craft edge support, but all they did was tell me to reinstall the software. I did this but when it asked for my serial number it said it was invalid. If I hit the "ok" option that's supposed to put you in trial mode then go to "help" then "about" it shows that the software is registered to me. I also turned off my virus protection and firewall and it still doesnt work. Why does it keep asking me to activate. Also, when I try to cut all it does is cut little lines across my paper. I'm wasting a lot of paper and it's driving me nuts!!! Does anyone know what I should do? HELP!!!!

I am also registered on my SCAL 2 but it is working in trial mode and cutting everything up.

This is now happening to me. I just sent them an email because I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. The about menu shows it is registered to me but like others it is working in trial mode. The error message I get is that it has been activated to many times. I was not haveing any problems untill I did the update to 2.001. I hope they get this worked out as I was really getting into the software. I like it alot so far.

Rorysnonna are you using Vista?? Try setting the properties to Windowsxp.. Mine was working in Vista mode but I kept getting the error shown above and then changed to Windows xp and it's working fine..
Also if anyone is having problems with the activation make sure you are putting in the serial number sent to you and not the registration number..

Thanks Sweetness, I am only running xp. I tried it all so I hope they answer soon.
Also note that when I do a complete uninstall via control panel add/remove programs, when I reinstall the software my settings, serial number are all still there. I find that strange so somewhere it leaves files behind.

After initially resolving the issue with Craft Edge, I had another glitch yesterday morning. Lost power to my pc in the middle of working in SCAL2. When I was able to reboot and bring it back up - it wanted me to purchase or activate again.

I went through turning off the firewall/anti-virus again before activating. Everything was working fine but I decided I would email support anyway - worried that if little glitches like this keep happening, I'm going to have my serial # locked up again. And, I haven't even installed on my laptop yet because I figured I'd wait until I knew most of the problems were worked out, etc.

They sent me a new link to download a 2.002 version. I looked and it is not on the website yet - but I would imagine a new update is coming soon.
