Anyone know how to make one or have one already? I need a dashed line to make perforations for folding, etc. You ladies here are so knowledgeable and helpful! I've been attempting to make one in Inkscape but am having a horrid time! Nothing I import into my SCAL library with Lib It Up shows in SCAL (Boo! But I'm sure I'm doing something wrong - still new to Inkscape). TIA!

Why don't you just type dashes or underscores as a word long enough to do what you need? You can put spaces between them or not depending on how you want it to look. You can play with different fonts to test the thickness of the dash or underscore.

Wreed,
What a great concept. I can't believe I never thought of that (sometimes the brain just won't work). Might just end my hand scoring days! thanks so much for the idea.

Wouldn't dashed lines still cut through. how about using a period with several spaces in between. Say every 5 or ten spaces. I wish I had read this before I made my first box. I created a take out box, then created a seperate layer for fold lines. Which is good, except you have to cut twice, once with the blade in right, and the second time with the blade in upside down. Also you have to line up both files. It takes for ever.
Another thought would be to do like the cricut cartidges do in tags bags boxes and more. put cross hairs at the top and bottom of your fold lines.

Ive tried the dashes and dots etc. The one that worked for me was full stops. I set my default size to .25 and used that though you may have to fiddle till you get what you want.

Tingha, what do you mean by full stops?
If you are in Inkscape you can draw a line with the bezier tool (looks like a fountain pen tip), then select whatever style you like from the dashes menu in the fill and stroke>stroke style pallette. Then use the path>stroke to path command to turn that into a cuttable dashed line. I haven't played around with this to know what style cuts best but you have all kinds of control using this feature.
Another idea...You might want to look at the free SVGs from scrappingtable.com. I really like her perfed score lines, visible, but not obvious once the items are assembled. You could just copy and paste the score lines from there.

full stops are in fonts? I open the svg of the box, purse etc that needs the score line I do a line of full stops in SCAL then move it where I want it to be scored.
Thanks for you tip!
Personally I dont have any issues with scoring.

Tingha,
I think we have a dialect barrier.
Are full stops what we in the states call periods, maybe?
