E-craft + SCAL 3-custom mat size?

I'm wanting software that will cut a large (6 ft x 6 ft) piece in 12" wide cuts. Does anyone know if SCAL 3 will do that? And how?

I think it more depends on if your cutter can cut that wide. Some cutters will only cut up to 5/8" from the edge. Others will cut a true 12" I think the SCAL/ECAL programs will cut wherever you tell it to, as long as it's supported by the cutter. (I may be wrong here, but from experience on a couple of cutters I have used, this seems to be the case).

I know my Ecraft cutter will cut slightly less than the 12" size, but scal will cut a huge picture in slices? Is there a better software for that?
