How do I do this. I had a scalloped circle and I put a square over half and did front minus back. but I only want the scallops to cut not the straight line. I am wanting to make this
swing card.

I don't think there is a way to do this in SCAL yet, but it can be done using the node tool in Inkscape (click this

and then select the two nodes you want to break the line between and use this

).
Here is your file with the Path opened.

I know in inkscape you can highlight both end nodes and then use the break apart feature and delete.. You can try this in inkscape but instead of hitting delete to delete the nodes hit backspace...

Thank you, I don't use inkscape. I just don't have time to use it often enough to remember what I am doing in it.

Okay this is getting more frustrating. I tried to line up the half circle back to my original full circle and the proportions have changes and it doesn't matter what I do. so here is the original full circle. Can you keep the full one and then do another one with a new one so I can have both exactly the same.

Is this what you want??? If you want an exact copy of the full circle then use the duplicate option..

I want this now, too, so I got it where I think it will be good...I made another full scallop a little smaller than the half one, as it is very difficult to line up two scalloped circles the same size, I think. If one is a bit smaller I think it will be easier and will look like it has a small edge lining it. Hope this works!
EDIT: .scut file did not seem to cut properly, so I have removed it.
ALSO...because this card folds back on itself...it seems the larger scalloped circle fits best if it is flipped over from how it is cut. Careful also not to twist the alignment of the scalloped circle. Just a though on this.
The file does require a tiny little cut with a razor knife where some nodes did not close completely. It is so minimal as not to be concerned with fixing IMO.

Thank you for the file! Here is what I did with them tonight, sorry for the crappy cell pics

I had to do a little hand cutting on the scallop part not sure why it wasn't cutting all the way. The Pointsettia flower is from Penny Duncans site.
