Driver issues

Post by Paula Anne »

Yesterday while working with the eclips, a transformer blew in our neighborhood.
When I rebooted my computer (yes everything including eclips was on a surge protected power strip), my ecal software started doing weird things.
I called sizzix and they agreed, I should uninstall it and then reinstall.
2.50 hours later, no one at sizzix can tell me how to remove the driver from the computer.
We went through 2 steps 6 times and the driver remains, and says so when I try to reinstall.
I am beyond frustrated.
I have 2 jobs due this morning. Neither done because we can't get the eclips to work correctly.

All indications are that the driver is not there according to the sizzix support.
Yet, obviously not if it says its there.

Any suggestions?????
Thanks
Paula

Fill out this form and they should get back to you next week. Why do things always seem to happen on the weekend?...that is the way it is with me, too!

So, I just called sizzix and spoke with the woman who was suppose to get back to me on Monday (I never heard from her).
AFter experiencing problems most of the week, I finally reached her and found out that any work that I had done, after I reinstalled of the cd, can not be accessed.
We tried it before the update, and then again after the update.
All the files were corrupted.
Hours and hours of work is lost.
I have a job due tomorrow, I have to go in and resize everything.
I am on the verge of tears and sick to my stomach over this.

Hi gj, the files were stored on my external.
The problem lies in the software. Anything created under the old version (1.0), can not be opened under the 1.007 which is the most current.
Storage was not the issue.
However, it would have been nice had I been informed earlier.
As it turns out, many of the files were corrupted because of the problems, and drivers.
I've recreated many files, still many more to go.
But, I am calmer now.
Thanks!

I am glad you have let others know of this. Is the a prevention for it happening...meaning, should everyone who created files with the older version, now be saving them again when open in the newer version, or something like that?
