Pazzle Inspiration and SCAL

Post by Harvezter »

My girlfriend is about to buy a Pazzles Inspiration. We are reading about all that comes with it. I read a lot about SCAL and I suggested to her that we get it. She asked why and I couldnt really give her a good answer.

We are hoping that you may be able to tell us if we really need SCAL and if there is an advantage to having SCAL rather than having just the Pazzles software that comes with the machine.

All input and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Harv

You can try it for yourself for the trial period, which I think is a month. I don't know about the software that comes with that machine...but I do know I love my scal...it is very user friendly and so it was pretty easy to learn by watching the tutorials and with all the help available here.

Good luck with your decision.

Not to throw a wrench in this, but I wouldn't recommend the Pazzles. As far as cutting ability, it is the same machine as the Cricut, just marketed by a different company. I had one for a month and sold it on Ebay. For superior cutting ability and cheaper prices, I would suggest a Silhouette Cameo or Sizzix Eclips.

Agree with taking a second look at getting the Pazzles. The people that made Pazzles are the people that originally made the Cricut. They sold everything to them, and then made the Pazzles. It's pretty much the same. Again, I'm in agreement with getting an Eclips or a Cameo. And, the ECAL/SCAL software is so easy to use and is totally worth acquiring.

Sorry I'm late to this thread, but I am responding here to correct some information.

Pazzles Inspiration and Cricut are different machines. They are not made by the same manufacturer, nor the same designer, and the blades and mats are not the same either. The founder of Pazzles invented many of the features you see in electronic die cutters today. Provo Craft had a licensing relationship with us so they could use some of our inventions. Older models from both our companies had some similarities, but were never identical. Our relationship with Provo Craft no longer exists. We do not recommend using blades and mats interchangeably between the two systems. Using mats and blades from the wrong system could damage the Inspiration. :(

Also, the Pazzles Inspiration is a much stronger machine than any of the Cricuts. We do not need a secondary deep housing blade to cut thicker materials. Unlike other machines, we cut chipboard, thin acrylic (clear plastic), magnet paper, stencil plastic, and much more! We also have more expansion tools, such as the distresser (http://pazzles.net/store/product.php?pr ... =18&page=1) and the paper piercer (http://pazzles.net/store/product.php?pr ... =18&page=1). We even have a cake kit! (http://pazzles.net/store/product.php?pr ... t=8&page=1)

Sorry you sold your Inspiration, Kate. We understand it's not the right machine for everyone. I just wanted to put the right info out there. Hope you don't mind.
