Need some advice on Cutters PLEASE :)

Post by WiseOwlWorkshop »

Hello- thank you all in advance! I am sort of new to the whole vinyl cutting game, I own a store that sells personalized wooden signs. I have been using my cricut for about 2 years now to cut vinyl and have SCAL 2, I am looking to upgrade but I am honestly overwhelmed by the choices in the market. I do not want something super expensive (200-350 range)but I would like to have the newest version of SCAL and be able to not worry that if I upgrade firmware that I will not be able to use it again. I use scal and inkscape for all of my designs and do not really want to change that. Can anyone please point me into a direction? I often do a lot of detail cutting but nothing my cricut can't handle as long as the detail is on par with that I would be okay. I appricate any advice that you can give me! I am really wanting to upgrade from this cricut asap!

If you want to use SCAL and be confident the cutter manufacturer won't block the use of SCAL, I think an eClips and eCAL would be your best bet.

While the Cameo is also a very nice machine, SCAL is not "officially" supported and they could get nasty at some point in the future. (Highly unlikely, but possible.)

Ditto the above, the eclips from Sizzix would be my choice.
