How can I activate the eCal? I click purchase but it says its currently unavailable. Is it on a disk. And is there any tutorial on how you connect the eClips to the computer?

I downloaded the trial version for Mac with no problem. Under HELP, once eCAL is open, is a long "how to" help that I haven't explored yet since the features that SCAL has seem to work pretty much the same. Haven't tried the new stuff, and there is a lot of new stuff.

I'll keep playing and posting info as I learn more. See my post about it here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26270

YEAH!

I'm so excited!!!! I just received my copy of ecal today (finally! Have had it on pre-order for over a month!), and love what I have seen/used so far! I do have one minor complaint - and it's with the selection tool. In SCAL2 for my Cricut, I could click and drag on part of a shape to select it, and in ecal I have to click and drag and include the entire shape to select it. This may be a problem when trying to separate two shapes that overlap each other a bit. Going to try a few different scenarios before passing final judgement......this is just my preliminary "quickie trial" in the program. :0)

Hi Cheryl, I too am still exploring eCAL and so far so good. I did find that most of the svg files come in as a group and if I ungroup or break apart I'm able to click on just one of the ungrouped pieces or surround it with the selection tool.

I'm on a Mac but that should not make any difference. Keep in touch with what you find.

Hi, Susan!
I'm on a Mac, too. I just played around a little more, and the tool is definitely a different "sensitivity" than from SCAL2. I'm familiar with ungrouping and breaking apart. I was more concerned with trying to select a single shape in images that have several tight/close images nested within each other, or that were extremely close together. I found that using the layer window "fixes" any issue I was having because individual layers can be selected in the window, which highlights the selection tool and allows for altering, moving, etc. at that point. I didn't use the layer window in SCAL2 much.....guess I'll just need to work on that! lol! :D

By default, to select an object, you need to enclose the entire shape in the selection box.
If you hold down the Shift Key when using the selection box, it does not have to completely enclose the entire shape

May I inquire as to where you bought it from and if it's a disk or download? I am still waiting to hear from Oh My Crafts that is has been shipped. They told me last week that I am suppose to get a disk copy. I'm jealous and a little mad now.
