The line up squares on the cutting mat, I've been positioning them by using the cursor and lining up the scale it looks OK but I'm not sure if exactly set. There don't seem to be any snap to lines. How to I accurately position a square in top right and left corners?
Thank you.

There's are sections in my SCAL5 user manual covering these various topics as I cover below. Here's a link to the UM:

https://www.iloveknk.com/0um/SCAL5/SCAL ... Manual.pdf

The snapping is rather subtle in SCAL5 compared to other programs I've used so that could be the issue you're having. Sections 3.04 and 7.03

If you need the letters to be moved to a specific grid location, then you can use the X and Y on that same panel, along with the bounding box position to move a letter to a very specific location. Section 3.04

Personally, for what you're trying to achieve, I would use the top or bottom alignment icons on the Position & Size panel to make sure all of the letters are aligned the same along the top. Section 3.18.2

Then you can use the Distribute menu functions to make sure the letters are equally spaced, if needed. Section 3.19.2

If you still have issues, please post back!

Hi again,
In the position & size panel I'm using to page as you recommended. I'm curious though, when is to selection used? I've looked in the manual but can't see anything I think I may have been looking in the wrong section?I've also Googled but can find any information on the difference and different uses of to page and to selection?
Thanks.

So sorry! I have different versions of the UM for different cutters and then a version that's JUST SCAL. I should have referenced the just SCAL version number.

I'm constructing the word FAK on the A is a watermark. I've tried to use the object, break apart option, then select the watermark to delete. When I select A object, break apart the letter shape changes I can select the watermark and delete but the altered letter remains. I tried downloading a fresh PDF copy of the A but the same thing happens.
Had no problems breaking apart and deleting the watermark I found on other letters.
