Save a Font only design

Post by CharMan »

I have been working on sponsor signs for my ladies golf club tournament. Is there a way to save a design that is comprised of only letters?

I don't understand the question, I guess. Can't you just use File>Save or File>Save As in the same way you would any other file? Did something not work as expected when you did that?

I did try to save.....but when I tried to retrieve (import) the file it was gray and I could not even open it.
I am using a Mac computer.

A few questions:

(1) Is this text you created yourself in SCAL versus something you imported?

(2) Were you opening this file on the same exact computer that was used to create it?

(3) Did you temporarily load a font while in SCAL to use when creating the text? If so, did you remember to select the text and go to Text>Convert Text to Outlines before saving the file?

1 - Yes, it was text I created (sponsor names)

2 - Yes, was using the same computer

3 - I was using different fonts in the library (not a temporary font)
I did NOT convert text to outline......is that the "secret" to saving?

You might want to try that. I'm honestly baffled by what you're describing. I've never not been able to just save text. Maybe also try again using a very common font like Arial. See if the same thing happens. Maybe something weird occurred with the other file when it was saved and it became corrupt.
