I'm new to SCAL, so this feature could very well already be available. If so, please direct me to where I need to go to learn how to use it.
The suggestion...
Machine embroidery design programs have a preview feature that enables the user to move the needle (for our purposes, a blade) to the center of the design, as well as pre-check the furthermost corners of where the design will be placed. Again, it physically moves the needle to each of the far corners of the design. In this way, if the design isn't going to fit, the user can either adjust the hoop, or adjust the design.
In SCAL I wouldn't try this with the blade place, but it would be really hand to be able to do it with just the holder attached. It would certainly reduce my fears of working on smaller pieces of material.
Thanks so much,
Carol
