SCAL 4 iPad

Post by papasue »

Out and about I would love to have SCAL/eCAL for iPad so I could design on the go. I can save or email home them home and cut when I get back to my cutter. I would be willing to pay for this app!

How about it CE?

Yes, please! My family has 3 iPads now and zero PCs. We are not replacing our home laptop, which just died, and we are not alone. Many of my friends have replaced their PCs with iPads. If SCAL is going to remain viable, it needs a browser-based product (preferably with a mobile-device-friendly app). There are several articles about the future of software, but here's another: http://www.sramanamitra.com/2012/03/24/ ... ready-yet/

"The future of IT will be cloud computing, or software applications delivered and consumed through Web browsers. The concept of packaged software is old now and will be replaced by applications accessible through the Web."

"Use of Internet-enabled mobile devices will surpass the use of desktop and laptop PCs."

Would love to know that SCAL is moving this direction. Sadly for me, my SCAL days are over until they do.

Small touch screens are for content consumption.

Large monitors, mice, and keyboards are tools of creation.

I could see this idea working for low detail consumer stuff only...
