Does Scal 5 allow me to trace by colour please?

Yes, it does. In fact there are two "trace by colour" functions. With one option, you specify the number of colors you want SCAL to identify and trace and you can even cross out any you do not want. In the other option, you click on a color in the origin image and have that color traced.

I make videos for the Scrappy Dew classroom, however they are not free. But I did make two videos regarding tracing capabilities in SCAL5 to address a really bad video that I knew SCAL users were watching to learn how to trace and it was a disaster in terms of the information it was teaching. So, watch the 2 that I made and it will give you a taste of how the tracing function works. But note there are many more settings that do some amazing things in SCAL5.
