SCUT files not opening in ECALS or ECALS2

I have not been able to open SCUT files in ECALS or ECALS2. I have made sure the fill and line are black, done a preview on cutter screen and nothing shows up. When I open the files in the SVG folder and choose one it will show on the preview pane there but then I click on okay to put it on the mat and there is nothing there. Any help by anyone would be appreciated
