Question about SCAL compatibility with Cricut Expression

Newbie here,
I apologize in advace as I am sure this question has probably been asked a million times by others.

I own a Cricut Expression. I also have a MacBook Air. I am wondering if I purchase the SCAL software, will it be compatible with my Cricut? I have downloaded a trial version of the software and it looks like exactly what I would love to have. But I have also seen some comments that say it will not run on a Cricut. I just want to be sure I can actually use it before I spend the money buying the software. Buying a different cutter is not an option at this time for me. I appreciate any insight or help that anybody can give me with this.

The current version of SCAL will not work with the Cricut Expression (and will not in the future) as Cricut has put a stop to that. Older copies of SCAL will also not work....so don't purchase for that purpose.

There are other machines that will work, which will work, but you mention those as not being an option for you.
