Sizzix Eclips Discussion

Post by jasenj1 »

An online store posted a listing for the Sizzix Eclips early and now we now a bit more about it. Click the link below to read a bit more about it. So far it appears to be an electronic cutter with a separate Gypsy-like controller. There is reported to be a USB port on it, so maybe there'll be software or third-parties could step up and write something. It will be officially released Jan 15, so by the time most folks read this, it'll be out.

Thx, Jasen,
Many eyes have been on the e-craft (craftwellusa.com) as well. It is going to be interesting to see what happens with these 2 new players on the scene.

Looks like you wouldn't be able to use small scraps of paper like you can with the Cricut - that's the nice thing about the Cricut Mat

SS,
I don't think we know whether this one uses a mat or not. It is the e-craft that doesn't have a mat.

Ouch, just saw the price. To get me to spend $499.99 it better be real special.

A little more info available about the Eclips. Sizzix is using their Facebook page to provide the latest info. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sizzix/22128437236

They've posted a few pics of a carrying bag for it.

Sizzix Eclips is live now: http://www.sizzix.com/product/2017

Cartridges are $40. Uses a mat just like the Cricut. Very similar looking to the Cricut. But no sign of design software. CE ought to get one and figure out the cutting protocol.
