Incomplete cuts, random ends not meeting

Post by lionessaz »

MacBook Pro 10.10.5 (Yosemite), SCAL 3.075, 24" Silver Bullet

I design outside SCAL and bring my designs into SCAL for cutting. I've checked to make sure all nodes are connected and they are. Randomly, throughout my design are little tails where it looks like the blade lifted before finished the cut. It happens in the same spot each time although many of the shapes it is happening on are duplicates that have just been copied and moved to a different place on the mat and it doesn't happen in the same spot on the same shape on other parts of the design. I've attached pictures.

I've got my Blade offset at 0.30mm, my Overcut checked and set to 0.01mm. New blade.

Why does this happen? How do I fix it?

Thank you,
Michele

VERY odd because that is exactly the result you get when the blade offset it too low for the blade in use. As a test, try a part of the project using an Offset of, say, 0.7. See if it improves. Sometimes blades can be off spec.

It also looks like blade offset to me. Check out this for help: http://craftedge.com/tutorials/blade_of ... offset.php
