Can SCAL be used with Expression with updated firmware?

Hello! I have a Cricut Expression. I am trying to figure out if there are any options to use SCAL with it. The issue is that at some point I updated its firmware (approx 2012 ish) so I'm running v 2.43. Do I need to have SCAL 2 to make it work, and will SCAL2 work with updated firmware? I downloaded SCAL 5 and the libcutter patch as instructed in a previous post and could not get it to work. Thanks!

SCAL5 and the patch should have worked. Did you also install the Windows or Mac driver for your Cricut?

Otherwise, to your current question, SCAL2 should also work, again, if you have the proper FTDI driver installed, as well. Unfortunately, if you find SCAL2 for sale, it's not supported by Craft Edge any longer... due to the law suit by Provo Craft.
