Can someone please help me? I am trying to cut a 9x45 in SCAL 3 with my US CUTTER and I have customize my Matt, but I need it to cut the long way, straight up and down, so what or how can I do that? Thanks

When you created your Custom Mat, did you make the long side the Height? That's all you need to do. And then, for convenience, you can switch to Landscape mode while designing so that it fits onto your monitor better. But as long as your mat looks like this in Landscape mode, then it will cut the way you're wanting. Note the little triangle on the mat on screen indicates the direction that the vinyl is feeding into the cutter.
