It appears to me that "HIT" and "THE" are not the same Height. When you select each and look at the H value on the Size & Position panel, are they the same?

Yes words are different sizes, see attached. I assume if I change HIt to the same size as THE, the issue will be solved?

Since I've never fully understand what the final result/project will be, I can't answer your question. In general, people just type out letters, set the size of the overall text (height or width) to what they need and then cut them out. In your case, it seems you're needing something very specific that I don't fully grasp. Sorry! If you have an example of what you're trying to achieve, feel free to post it and then maybe I can help some more. :)
