Color Matching in SCAL4

Post by faithfullystitchd »

Newbie here. I have searched and searched on how to color match in SCAL4 but cannot find a tutorial on how to do it.
I see that there is an eye dropper tool but I cannot get it to work.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Staci,

If the color you're trying to match is in a raster image (JPG, PNG, BMP), then select it, go to the Trace Image window, switch from Monochrome to Single Color, double click the little color box just to the right and then move your mouse over the preview on the right until you see the color you want appears above the Preview. You can just write down the RGB values OR left click, click on OK and the bring the shapes of that color into SCAL's main window. From there, if you're trying to change another shape to THAT new color you picked, then use the Eye Dropper tool on the left Tools Panel to recolor another shape to that same color. To do that, read Section 3.16 of my user manual:

If the color you're trying to match is in another vector image, then you just need to use the steps in Section 3.16.

Post back if you still have problems or questions.
