Space between cut lines

Hello,

I have an image I used SCUT4pro to trace. When it cuts/draws the image there is a very thin space between the cut lines. I want that space to be wider. I've tried using the width option in the Fill & Stroke box but all that does it make the image wider on the screen. When it "cuts" its still the same thin line. Is there a way to make that space bigger?

Without seeing the file or even a sceenshot, I can't be positive that the following solution is what you need. But, based on what you wrote, this is my best guess. First... add a new page to your project and Copy/Paste the design to the new page so that you'll still have your original in case something gets "messed up." Select the design and apply Object>Break Apart. This will make one cut path separate from the other, in case they were joined together. Then select one or the other paths and apply Path>Path Offset. You'll see in that window the option to do Inset Path. Use that if you selected an inner path. Otherwise, don't mark that option if you selected the outer path. Enter the amount of offset you want and once you click on OK, the original path will be deleted and you'll be left with the new offset.

That did exactly what I was looking for. Only problem is it took the pointed edges and made them curved. Any way to fix that?

Thank you so much for your help

if you go back to your original and use that function again, make sure the Type says Regular and then you can increase the Miter setting to make the offset more pointed.
