Was looking at SCAL a year or so ago and never managed to get to the point of trying out the software. Installed and launched, but that was it. Now I'm on the verge of completing my KNK Zing Orbit purchase and trying to decide if I should add the software. Not sure why a trial would expire WHEN it watermarks all the cuts already (seems like a redundant step except if people could export SVG or something, who knows).

Regardless, I need to to give the software a quick spin to determine if it's a necessary add on or not for me.

How can I do this?

I don't that's possible unless you have a different computer you can use to test it on. Even if you own MTC for cutting to the Zing Orbit, buying SCAL4 makes more sense because it provides more options for connecting, allows you do print and cut applications, gets updated regularly for bugs, and has some REALLY nice features not present in MTC. I've written two articles comparing MTC and SCAL. You can check them out at these two links:

Yeah, Based on your answers elsewhere I went ahead and just added it anyway...

Got my order in before 2:00pm but KNK didn't ship it on Friday and has not updated the order with my PIN for installing SCAL... so I'm just waiting... and waiting... and waiting :)

You should have your SCAL reg code now. I just checked with KNK. You should also have the tracking number for your ZO, as well.

Okay, great! And you've also probably figured out at least 3 ways to get tech support now, as needed. :) Don't hesitate to ask questions.
