What is "Up Speed"?

Post by desktopgaming »

I've just gone to use SCAL4 for the first time in many months, and there's a new setting in the Cut dialog; "up speed". What is this for?

I can't find any documentation relating to it.

Up Speed is the speed at which the cutting head moves while in the up position versus the Cut Speed which is the speed the head moves while down and cutting. Sometimes, with a material such as chipboard, you want to use a very slow cutting speed but when the head is up, moving to the next shape to cut, there's no reason for it to not be moving fast.
