Hi all - I have an eclips, but also have a brother scan n cut - I have the ecal software and really want to know whether it is worth me getting SCAL as well.
Could anyone give me a rundown on the difference between the two? For instance, I am aware that I can export SVG from ecal, so am happy with the extra step in the name of saving the cash - but are there any issues with doing this? Is it really just the one step? Also, does ecal have reduced functionality over scal?
Sorry to throw out so many questions, but I don't want to spend out cash if I don't need to, but likewise, I want good functionality and don't want to cause issues for myself!
thanks in advance

ecal and scan n cut?
Re: ecal and scan n cut?
The main difference between eCAL and SCAL is the cutting machine support where eCAL is only for the Sizzix eclips machines. Other than that, the main design functionality is the same.
SCAL can export as FCM files for the ScanNCut.
SCAL can export as FCM files for the ScanNCut.

Re: ecal and scan n cut?
Thanks so much for that...looks like I didn't need to buy scal then! Dang! Both export in svg, so both would have worked fine. Oh well, live and learn!
