Help To Line Up Holes In Star

Hi

Hope someone can help me, I want to take a star shape and put a hole at each side to I can thread ribbon through to make it into a banner/garland.

I am not sure of
1. How to line up the holes so they are in line
2. How to get the holes evenly to each side of the star
