Post by jrichards »

I have heard that Tyvek paper is great for cutting and would like to try it. Dose anyone have a source for it?

Jan, try here for one source or google as it comes in rolls and sheets. Let us know how it worked.

Thanks Steve I have already checked that out but the shipping is over half of the cost of the paper and I can't justify that just for experimentation.

What cutter do you own? I'm happy to buy it from the Amazon link and test it... and then can most likely determine if your cutter can cut it based on the settings I need for mine. ;)

I have a SB and I know it will cut it, just not sure how well for the small snowflakes I want for my Christmas card. Found a solution though, in Brunswick, OH is a small reseller of paper products, envelopes etc. called Hollo's Papercraft great deals as they sell the paper by the weight and the envelopes are .08 apiece. They also sell some scrapbooking and stamps as well as folders and papers for weddings invitations etc. that you can make yourself. Anyway I went up there yesterday and asked about the Tyvek and the only thing they had were the 11x17 envelopes for .25 apiece. I decided to buy a handful, cut them apart, and have 2 sheets at a cost of less than .13 per sheet. If I don't like how they cut I can always just use them for sending and storing items. Hoping to get the time to play this afternoon. Thanks for the offer Sandy I will let you know how it works out.

Please do! If it works really well, I will buy some so that I can test and record settings for our customers.
