Can't open project created one computer and cut from another

I have/had scal 3 on two computers activated. I created files on one computer and saved as Project as "Addies boot". I spent a good bit of time learning and creating this file. I also saved to a folder on my desktop. When I threw it on a thumpdrive and proceeded to take to the computer attached to my cutter. The file will show in the preview but will not load. I have tried deactivating scal 3 on the computer the file was created on, thinking maybe there was a conflict but still not opening. I have read you could have scal 3 on two computers as long as both are not opened at the same time. I am the only user for this computer/software.
What can I do to open this file.
