Overlay cutting question

I have a new Cameo and I'm trying to figure out how to cut my overlay to a 12x12 size. It is a frame with a couple of boxes in it to add pictures. I have it centered on the mat but I can't figure out why some of the outside edge gets cut off. After I cut it out 3 times I decided to just make it 11.75x11.75 and be done with it BUT I'm still trying to figure it out for next time. Thanks for any insight.
