Renesis SVG viewer

Post by lindamac »

Someone on the board recommended this SVG viewer so I downloaded it and immediately had problems with Windows Explorer crashing and having to close. After pulling out every hair on my head to figure out what was wrong and why Windows Explorer was crashing, I finally decided to get rid of Renesis and now everything is ok but now I can't see the files. I downloaded the Adobe SVG viewer which makes all my files have an Internet Explorer logo instead of a picture and takes me to the file on the internet. I don't like this option either. Any other suggestions out there? It is really nice to be able to see the SVG file. I have Windows XP.

I have Firefox and IE explorer and switch between the two. This isn't an internet browsing issue but a Windows browsing issue, I guess. Can I have Firefox be a computer browsing tool as well as an internet browsing tool?

I cant see why not. I associated the svg files with Firefox and I can view all my svgs as graphics in my svg folder now.

well this is windows xp . Firefox web browser installed.
Open your folder with your svgs in right click on a any svg file then go to properties.
In the general tab it will say type of file Opens with and a change button, click on the change button and find Firefox (you may have to browse to find the program if its not listed). There is also a box to tick which says Always associate this program with this kind of files

Do you see the thumbnails, or do you need to click on the file name to see the image with Firefox?

If I click on the files in Firefox, it shows images (in XP, I haven't tried Vista yet). I was wondering if there is a setting or a plug-in to show the thumbnails without clicking on each file. :D
