SCAL Version Help Please 2.041, 2.043, 2.044, 3.007

Post by hope9811 »

I have a question....I haven't used my SCAL in a long time and I know now it
doesn't support the cricut. My question is this....I have 2.041 on my desktop,
2.043 on my laptop, but I have the download for 2.044 saved. My question
is....what version should I keep so I don't loose my ability to cut to my
cricut? I would like both computers to be the same so when I use it and get
familiar with it again, they function the same. I don't even know the
differences between the versions that I have. What version would you use? What
I'd really like to do is update my desktop...deactivate it from my laptop, and
install it on my new laptop. Is version 2.044 the one I should use for both
computers? Is that the latest functioning version for SCAL with the cricut? It
is the last one I have until 3.007 which I also have but I think that's the one
that doesn't support the cricut. I have the .exe files for all of these, I just
don't want to mess up what I have but would like the latest operating program
with my cricut. I just don't know which one that is! LOL.

I posted this to a couple of groups that I follow....but no one has answered...so they
either don't know or haven't been on. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If I am not mistaken, 3.07 is the latest download for SCAL3 and 2.044 is the latest (and probably last) download for SCAL2 (which you use for Cricut). You are allowed to have them on two computers (with the same platform). Hope this helps.

This is where I found the latest version for SCAL3:

SCAL1, SCAL2 V2.044, SCAL3. SCAL4 XPsp3, Windows 7, Windows 10-64 bit, Ink.46, Cricut E, Silhouette Cameo
***My files are not to be sold and are for personal use only.***

Perfect...that means I can update to 2.044 on both computers and be fine right? LOL.....

That's what I'm hoping! Is anyone using a cricut and using 2.044?

Thanks!

I have been using version 2.044 with my Cricut E. No problems. I have the version 3 saved for future use if and when my Cricut dies. I rarely use my "G" anymore. HTH!

Version 3 will download to a separate file than scal2 and they run fine Because 3 is a differant program by name

When you get to a place and time to get a new cutter you can use both from the same computer

Unfortunately, you must have purchased SCAL2 a little while back to now get access to it. It is no longer available for purchase and those that own it can't transfer it to you. (If you already own and just need to update, you can go to download support at CE's site and get 2.044 there). Other members that do not want to depend on the Cricut cartridges and want to design using SCAL are buying other machines. There is a cutter review section on the forum and you can learn about the other machines there.

CraftEdge has new software called eCAL and the eClips machine as a bundle on their web site for purchase.

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but hope this makes sense.

I guess this is why people are selling SCAL 2 online for like $200+, huh?
