Help with finishing touches

Can someone help me with some finising touches on this design? (And then share what you did?) I got it all the way from artwork to this, but I'm having trouble finishing it up in either Inkscape .47 (new to me) or SCAL 2.010. What I'm wanting to do is clean up the left side of the skirt so that it's a smoother cut. I've added short lines to sort of point to the general area I'd like cleaned up some. Between the two lines on the skirt and then where I did some work on the arms prior to putting it here.

However, even when I try to import this into SCAL, I'm getting some gobbledygook, so there must be something I'm missing. Thank you in advance.

adjusted the left side by removeing the extra nodes and also cleaned up the left arm it had some jagged areas
